WHAT IS IV KETAMINE THERAPY?
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic with more than 55 years of FDA-approved use in human medicine. It continues to be routinely used today for anesthesia and sedation in hospitals, emergency departments, and other medical settings.
More than 25 years ago, researchers began studying ketamine for another important use: its rapid antidepressant effects. At doses substantially lower than those typically used for anesthesia, intravenous (IV) ketamine has demonstrated rapid antidepressant effects and has since been studied across a growing range of mental health conditions including treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and anxiety disorders, particularly when standard treatments have not provided adequate relief.

Infusions are administered and monitored in our medical office under the supervision of Kimberly Mastis, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist.
Treatment begins with careful screening and is tailored to each patient, with monitoring and ongoing assessment throughout treatment.

Massachusetts Ketamine is a physician-led mental health practice providing IV ketamine therapy in a private, comfortable, and closely monitored setting.
Our ketamine infusion program has been treating patients since 2019, with a focus on individuals struggling with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety disorders, and other difficult-to-treat mental health conditions.
Treatment is overseen by a board-certified psychiatrist and individualized for each patient. We believe innovative treatment should still feel personal — with thoughtful evaluation, careful monitoring, and compassionate care throughout the process.
We welcome both self-referrals and referrals from clinicians, and we're happy to collaborate with a patient's existing treatment team as part of their overall mental health care.

Meet Dr. Kimberly Mastis

Dr. Kimberly Mastis is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience treating individuals with complex and treatment-resistant mental health conditions. She began providing IV ketamine therapy in 2019 and has since provided ketamine treatment to hundreds of patients seeking another option when traditional treatments have not provided adequate relief.
Her approach to ketamine treatment is grounded in thoughtful psychiatric evaluation, individualized treatment planning, and careful medical monitoring. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Mastis considers ketamine within the context of each patient's overall mental health care and welcomes collaboration with existing psychiatrists, therapists, primary care clinicians, and other members of a patient's treatment team.
She believes patients deserve care that is both scientifically grounded and deeply personal — with time to be heard, questions to be answered, and treatment tailored to the individual.
